About
Tom and Rob were both born in Great Britain during the 1980s. Between them they got a front-row seat to the fastest explosion of computing power the world had ever seen — and, like most kids of the era, they spent a lot less time thinking about megahertz and a lot more time staring slack-jawed at the pretty pixels Sega, Sony and Nintendo were putting on the telly.
This Month, That Year is their excuse to keep doing exactly that. Each episode, the boys spin a random year between 1990 and 2004, land on a month, and dig into everything that actually came out in the UK during that window — the games that defined playgrounds and living rooms, the ones everyone's forgotten, and the odd disaster that probably should have stayed forgotten.
Expect honest reviews, hazy childhood memories that don't always match what's on the screen, trivia quizzes designed to catch each other out, and a new guest joining Tom and Rob every month to add their own scores — and their own take — to whatever the wheel throws up.
Whether you had the console, wanted the console, or were the one kid at school without the console, there's a good chance your gaming history gets a mention sooner or later.
